Happy Friday, fit friends!! As many of you may know, I am on the road (again) and will be traveling for a total of two weeks! While I love vacation and exploring new places, it's still very important to stay active and exercise while away from the "normal routine." I am often asked how I fit in exercise when on vacation and today I am going to share with you an awesome full-body circuit workout that you can perform anytime in nearly any hotel gym or local park! All you need is 15-30 minutes and some motivation!
This week's Free Fitness Friday: Full-body Hotel Gym Circuit Workout
This workout is very simple to set up (all you need is a lat pull-down machine, a light-to-moderate set of dumbbells, and an exercise mat or towel) and can be done in anytime frame that you have (anywhere from 15-30 minutes), but should be done at a fast-pace and with minimal rest. You can even fit this workout in at the end of a workout for an extra calorie burn! Complete 25 repetitions of each exercise in a row for 1 round, rest for 30-60 seconds, then begin with the first exercise for round 2. Complete 4 rounds to reach 100 reps of each exercise total!
As always, be sure to warm up before beginning the first round and cool down and stretch when you are finished.
Round 1:
- 25 lat pull-downs (or pull-ups if you don't have access to a pull-down machine)
- 25 squat jumps
- 25 push-ups (drop to your knees if needed)
- 25 alternating reverse lunges (25 each side)
- 25 squat and bicep curl
- 25 jumping jacks with shoulder press
That's the whole workout! Check out this video for demonstration of each exercise and please let me know if you have any questions!
See, you don't need a huge gym to get a great workout in while traveling! The key is to be creative and keep moving! Exercise is the key to longevity and gives you the energy to enjoy exploring new places!
So go ahead, get your workout on and then go have some fun exploring this weekend!
Have a great workout and a wonderful weekend ahead!
