Happy Friday! And what a great week it has been in Asheville, NC. While I love traveling, it may be challenging to stick to an exercise routine on the road. If you will be traveling a lot in the next few months and may find it hard to get to a gym or fit in exercise altogether, have no fear! Check out this Full-body Bodyweight Stair Workout that you can fit in anytime and anywhere!
This week's Free Fitness Friday: Full-body Bodyweight Stair Workout
This workout is very simple to set up (all you need is your body and a set of sturdy stairs) and can be done in anytime frame that you have (anywhere from 15-30 minutes), but should be done at a fast-pace and with minimal rest. You can even fit this workout in at the end of a workout for an extra calorie burn! Complete all exercises in a row for 1 round, rest for 1 minute, then begin with the first exercise for round 2. Complete as many rounds as you can in the time you have! (Try for 3-5 rounds!)
As always, be sure to warm up before beginning the first round and cool down and stretch when you are finished.
Round 1:
- 10 Right leg stair pop-up
- 10 Left leg stair pop-up
- 10 Stair push-up with cross knee drives (10 push-ups total, 20 cross knee drives )
- 10 Stair jump & squat
- 20 stair tricep dips
- 10 Stair burpees
Check out this short video to see how each exercise is performed and to ensure that you have proper form throughout each exercise! (Sorry for the weird angle and for cutting my head out during a few of the exercises, but you'll get the gist of it!)
Whew! What a great, quick workout! Not to mention ... how gorgeous is the view!? Love working out outside and enjoying my surroundings ... no matter where I am! If you have the opportunity to travel and experience the outdoors... DO IT! And make sure you visit Asheville, N.C. Such a fun city surrounded by gorgeous mountains!
Have a great workout and have a wonderful weekend!
